Emoticon Recommendations

If you want to suggest an emoticon to be made or brought to the Sketch Universe Wiki, then here's the place to do so!
Please don't be offended if your suggestion is not used. Although it is uncommon for us to ignore innocent users with simple recommendations, we may have an emoticon already for whatever it may be.

Drama, Shutdown, and Updates

I refused to make this because I wanted to see if I could fix this myself, but all the moderators are growing sick of it and we have all gotten our fair share of stress from this.
Here's what I have to say about the everyday drama going on in the chat, and I'm not going to censor myself either:
Listen, I understand a lot of you hate me and the wiki itself because you think I handle it poorly or whatever, but it's easier to just leave rather than stay here and waste your time trolling and arguing in main about how I'm doing something that is complete and utter bullshit. Even if you know me in person and you want to show off to everyone how bad of a moderator and human being I am, I don't see how it's necessary to go out and yell at me in the main chat for it. ( And no, that was an example, I'm not actually saying that my IRL friends are doing that. )
And I know it's not just me being targeted during drama, there's others being dragged into it too. Perhaps, people who actually know the truth about what happened and not a he-said-she-said kind of deal. Or, perhaps, people who want to trigger others, indirectly baiting them by mentioning something they know they don't like, and expecting a reaction of the other. Or, even so, it may be because there's real-life drama going on between two people and each side of the story is fucked up, therefore people are there to choose their "sides". Not to mention, most everyone just knows ONE certain side to the story, not the other.
Some things are better left unsaid.
Now, I'm done ranting about this and I'm done trying to handle it, so are some of the staff. As the best solution I could think of, I'm going to shut this chat down by 6 PM CST tomorrow. How long will it be gone? As long as it takes. Weeks, probably. I know a lot of you are going to be happy about this, and I know a lot of you are going to be sad, too. But as I should mention, it will only be a temporary break from stress and to calm everyone down of drama. It's more like a gift to everyone.
The reason I am giving a warning to when I'm shutting it down and not doing it immediately, is so that you can have a chance to ask for your friends' other contact places so that you don't lose them during the shutdown.
When the shutdown is over, though, I want a clean and fresh slate on our hands. I want it to be as if we didn't know each other before, like this wiki is brand new. That's all I ask, honestly.
UPDATES: We'll be having staff changes through the shutdown too, so be on the lookout to watch for new ( and old :D ) staff members coming along, while having to say goodbye to some.
It's been a stressful year so far, and I'm disappointed in some of you. But I have not given up hope, after this break, I'll be ready for a new start. I hope you guys will be too.

Quick message explaining that chat was broken due to chattags; people sent messages and they didn't show on others' ends, people couldn't enter, and the rail was empty or filled with people who had already left. The issue is being resolved currently. Once Wikia's (and your browser's) cache passes the edit, chat will be working again. As I'm posting this the edit was made live, so a simple bypass should do the trick.
The consequence? Chattags are being removed for the time being. Different revisions of the script will be tested on other wikis, and hopefully we will have a safe version back soon.

Okay, okay, okay. Since a lot of you don't know what long-messaging is, let me explain.
In a way, it is spam, but in a way, it isn't. For example, say I type the letter A for a long amount of characters in one message or I insert a paragraph into the chat; because this isn't multiple messages being sent rapidly, this isn't really seen as spam in my case. Pretty sure others will agree with me here, and if you don't, then I'm sorry.
I mean, you are allowed to use excessive caps, long-message, and scream as much as you want when there are not that many users on the chat ( 6 or less ), however, if more are on, then all of these privileges will be put away.
I know, confusing rules. Just bear with us, mates.
( P.S. Do pardon me if I sound out of it or more complicated than usual, I'm rather tired from the lack of a long slumber last night. )

Expectations? Reputation? Bans?

Hello, everyone. If I have to be honest with you guys, I've made mistakes with my moderation techniques sometimes. For the past few months, I might have been growing a little stricter and snappy ( and a whole lot more honest ) when I moderate, probably because of my constant stress. And, no, I'm not making an excuse to fill the gap. It could just be an explanation as to why I'm getting unhappy in only a rather of minutes. Recently, I've caught some users, that come here, talking trash about this wiki and how I run it. Some of the users were never in trouble before, either, so it couldn't have been just rage for not seeing what they've done wrong. Most were even people I thought were friends of mine.
It hurts to get all of these bad comments about not only myself, but a website that I've worked hard on and tried to keep clean. I'm just one person, it's not my fault that I can't moderate the 'perfect way' that everyone wants me to.
Not to mention, some of these users have said these comments in the main chat of a wiki, where others will only go by what the users said and shake their head at this wiki, regardless of even becoming a part of it. This just kills our reputation; none of us are trying to do a bad job. We, the staff members, have real lives too. We aren't perfect, nobody is.
To those of you who have been complaining and getting mad about a ban:
Think about when and why you were banned. If you still think it is unjust, message the person who banned you on their message wall, asking specifically as to why you were banned and what you did wrong.

If it wasn't you who was banned and it was your friend, please take in to consideration that friendship should never go before doing the right thing. If you do something wrong, you need to be punished for it, despite who you may be. This doesn't mean you can't be friends with the user, you are entitled to having your own relationships with anyone you prefer.
Lastly, always keep this in mind: Every wiki has problems, so you really can't say one wiki is shit, and go around with another to say that it doesn't have issues what-so-ever.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,

False Identification

I never thought I'd have to address this problem. However, some have been doing this all too much recently.
If you're going to make an alternate account to be a fake person, you have to tell an administrator and it has to be for serious reasons.
Why can't we have some fun?

False identification on the internet is serious. It shouldn't be something you claim as "fun".
What if I'm caught as another person on a different account?

If it's your first time, then we'll warn you.
If it's NOT your first time, then you will be banned for however long the admin deems necessary.
What if I just don't want to tell you that I'm this person?

It won't change the fact that you'll get banned if you're caught lying about who you are to everyone, especially administrators.
How many alternate accounts can I make for this?

The recommended amount is just one, but if you have to, then two ( maybe three ) is fine. Once again, they have to be solid, good enough reasons to be made.

New Rule

I'm done being kind and gentle about it. Refusing to use a certain pronoun or gender-use for someone is now against the rules, whether not everyone one of you like it or not. I'm completely exhausted of this harassment and disrespectful behaviour from some of you. I do not care what some want to throw at me in controversy. Whether it's religion, opinions, or whatever, I don't want to hear it. It's disrespectful and selfish to use their ""true"" pronouns when you don't like to be mistakened for a gender you don't want to be either. To be completely honest, I'm disappointed. I would have thought that everyone would respect everyone's gender identity and not give them hell for it. They already go through enough shit in their real life, so what good does it do for you when you won't use their damn preferred pronouns on the internet where they feel they can truly be themselves without family, friends, or just anyone haunting them for what they wish to never have been?
I may sound cold, but it's the truth. I'm not putting up with this anymore. If you want to be angered because I'm doing what's right, then so be it.

Asking Opinions

Because the wiki's navigation can only support so many additions, is it okay/should I remove the drop-down menus for fan content under the Wiki Content tab?
[I'm using pollcode because Wikia's built-in polls can sometimes be unreliable and it is supposedly possible to vote several times with strawpoll.]

if I put an asterisk in an announcement on the chat, then it means to watch the caps and long-messaging. i am only doing this so that i don't have to say the same thing over and over again, you know? thank you for understanding.

So as most of you know, the holidays are coming along now. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule... many different ones. I've been experimenting to see any decorations I can code into play for it; perhaps a Santa Claus hat or a Chistmas-y type cursor. Although, I am not entirely sure if I'll be able to do so. I might need some help if it comes down to it. I'm thinking about putting in the designs by tomorrow or this evening, so be on the lookout for them! :)

PLEASE READ: Gender Identity and Pronouns (Continued)

Seriously, everyone. This is starting to really exasperate me.
It is extremely rude to point out the sex of a person.
Perhaps someone is transgender-male and they mention something about their gender or themselves that 'females' wouldn't do. Do not, I repeat, do not tell them that they are female and that is wrong/disgusting/bad.
Perhaps someone is gender-neutral and they mention something about being no gender at all. Do not point out that they are wrong and are fe/male.
Guys, just stop it. I've had a friend turn from being happy and full-of-life, to being a depressed and broken kid because they aren't the person they feel like on the inside and everyone is pestering them constantly about being a certain sex, and not being what he really feels like. They told them that they just need to get over it, and to 'suck it up'. It's not that. simple. Most people don't understand this kind of feeling unless they have been through it themselves.

This is a condition in which a person feels very uncomfortable and/or unsatisfied with their current sex. Most of the time, being reminded of their biological gender can lead them to intense depression. It's not in their control that they were born under a body that makes them feel absolutely horrible. Being transgender, which is most of the time the reason gender dysphoria is developed, can be serious. It's not like they're just saying "I'm fe/male" because they want to, it's because they truly, one hundred percent feel like the opposing gender.
Now, I will not be playing around with this anymore and letting things like this slide. It IS harassment to point out someone's sex or to constantly refuse the usage of their pronouns/gender uses.
If I see anyone doing this again in the chat, I am going to kick them. I am not going to stand for this mistreatment anymore.
Thank you, and have a nice day.
Sincerely, Alex (SketchNebula)

Gender Identity and Pronouns

Hey, everyone. I have recently been seeing a large quantity of users on the chat greentexting incorrect pronouns and gender uses. Although you may not like someone using the wrong pronoun for you, it's best that you do not greentext it. It is completely fine and normal to correct the person who misgendered you, but please do not greentext such. It gets annoying to the mistooken user, not to mention it gets a little spammy.
Another thing I'd like to mention as we're having this discussion; it is seen as harassment if you refuse to use someone's preferred gender/pronouns and it upsets/irritates the user. Accidents happen, but if you're constantly avoiding the use of these preferred pronouns, there's an issue. Please, it is best to do as the person wishes. Out of my own experience, being referred to as a different gender can really get to you. And, it is really rude and disrespectful if you tell them about not being really what they prefer to be and point out their sex. Pronouns and gender identities DO matter, whether you think they're great or ridiculous; so please try to use the correct pronouns, alright? It doesn't take any more time than saying the other ones do.
That is all for now. Arrivederci, amici e amice! :)

I am seriously disappointed in some of you people.

Since Sketch decided to change around some user groups, there has been a heavy increase in the butthurt on this wiki. Now, I'm not trying to shame anyone, I'm only saying that this behaviour is absolutely ridiculous.
It's okay to be a bit unhappy about being demoted. What is unnecessary, however, is making an absolute fucking fit out of it. It's just a silly position. Look at me. I was a chat mod on such a big wiki as FNaF wiki, but I was too edgy for that spot at the time. Moderating is stressful. It can do some weird shit to you; if you knew me back in October of last year, you'd know that I was a completely different person. I may have grown smarter but my personality started to go downhill.
My point here is that, when I was demoted from FNaF wiki, I made one blogpost about it and moved on. It wasn't like I had killed everyone I had once known and loved. It was like a burden was lifted. I no longer had to deal with the stress of that chatroom, and now I look back on it and thank the admins that decided I was not fit for the job. Even though my mental state is still pretty bad now, it could have been worse and I'm glad it's not.
Another point I'm trying to make is for anyone who was or IS demoted in the future to seriously chill about it. It's somewhat understandable if you have anger issues, yet I was capable of handling being demoted on a wiki that probably averaged at least 100,000 views a day. It's just a silly position.
Now, if you were demoted, I'd like you to take a moment to think about why. Might you want to go back and check the deletion logs? Think about something you said that wasn't acceptable? Read the staff rules again; maybe there was something you misinterpreted? Or were you just a 'first-come first-serve' friend of the founder but you knew you had no benefit and still wanted to be important and get attention?
I am one of the most important people on FNaFRP at the moment and I got 3 comments on a blog explaining why I was gone. So, wanting adminship for attention will not always work (not implying that I did want it for attention, I was just promoted without any clue).
This is also why the staff rules were made. They would prevent problems like these from arising.
Again, if you were demoted, it was for a reason, not just because you're "worthless". Everyone on this earth has some significance and thinking you should hurt yourself just because of something that happened over a SILLY LITTLE POSITION is the very embodiment of unacceptable. You all are truly beautiful people and I know we can be better than this.
We all have our faults, and I believe that I am far from perfect but this is just ridiculous. I am not waiting until this gets out of hand. I am dealing with it now.
Edit: Yes, I'm targeting this now. You know who you are.

Old Avatars on the Staff Page

None of us, the administrators, can update the avatars. The links are not working like they should be. I have not the slightest clue what is up with it; I believe I did put the code correctly into the External Image Whitelist. I will try to fix the matter as soon as possible, so please don't bother the staff about the outdated user avatars. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I have also seen many people growing worried because their avatars are not there or are glitching out. Don't worry, many other wikis have been having the issue too. I am sure that the Wikia staff will fix it as soon as they can, you just have to be patient.
That is all for today. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and don't forget to smile!

Guys, please. (News included too.)

I've noticed so much caps in the chat lately and it's really getting spammy because it's so excessive. Not everyone uses it all the time, it's only some that tend to use these a lot. I used to be guilty of this but I've stopped using them so much because of the spam it causes. So please, watch the caps lock. I've been saying "Shhh the caps" or "Chill with the caps" but it doesn't seem to work. This here is my last warning before I start handing out kicks. Seriously, we all don't have to scream at each other. Exclamation marks exist, too.
I also have some news; I have customized the polls so they look a little more fancier now. c: Although, I couldn't get the div on .pollAnswerVotes to work. If anyone would like to help with that, that'd be much appreciated.
That is all now. Ciao, amici!

Tabbers and wiki design!

Sounds like a late post, I know. Now, as much as I like how it is now, I want what you guys are satisfied for. Without further a' do, I made a poll.

JSSnippetsStack.push({dependencies:["/extensions/wikia/AjaxPoll/css/AjaxPoll.scss","/extensions/wikia/AjaxPoll/js/AjaxPoll.js"],callback:function(json){AjaxPoll.init(json)},id:"AjaxPoll.init"})Should I change the wiki design at all?  Change all of it! 0 Keep the wiki design, but change the tabbers back to how they were. 0 Keep the tabber design, but change the wiki design/colours up. 2 Up to you. 3 No, keep all of it the way it is now. 8 The poll was created at 20:28 on September 15, 2015, and so far 13 people voted. Please wait, submitting your vote...

Posting in threads that aren't directed to you.

If you see a thread that contains two people talking back and forth, do not comment on it.
This can irritate people very quickly, there is no punishment for this, other than your comment being deleted. People talk on messages walls and forums to work out things, you don't need to put your input in or ask what's going on. Five times outta ten it's not about you or concerns you.
If this continues, a harsher punishment will be in affect.

Excessive caps and long messaging.

I am a hundred percent sure I have told everyone on the chat this before but I'd like to put this out on there so you can know about this.
When there is only a few users on chat, I do not care to how much caps you use or if you do a long message (this does not allow spam, although) but if there are at least 10 or more people on chat, then you are to watch your typing.
Thank you,
EDIT: This goes for joke kicking and banning; you can joke-kick and joke-ban as much as you want when there are a small group of people here. But when it gets crowded you may only do them a few times.
