New Rule

I'm done being kind and gentle about it. Refusing to use a certain pronoun or gender-use for someone is now against the rules, whether not everyone one of you like it or not. I'm completely exhausted of this harassment and disrespectful behaviour from some of you. I do not care what some want to throw at me in controversy. Whether it's religion, opinions, or whatever, I don't want to hear it. It's disrespectful and selfish to use their ""true"" pronouns when you don't like to be mistakened for a gender you don't want to be either. To be completely honest, I'm disappointed. I would have thought that everyone would respect everyone's gender identity and not give them hell for it. They already go through enough shit in their real life, so what good does it do for you when you won't use their damn preferred pronouns on the internet where they feel they can truly be themselves without family, friends, or just anyone haunting them for what they wish to never have been?

I may sound cold, but it's the truth. I'm not putting up with this anymore. If you want to be angered because I'm doing what's right, then so be it.

wow, i see those two comments above me don't really understand why it's a thing or why he;s being so strict, but i agree with sketch, there's a lot of confusing genders that people use their actual gender instead of what they want to be, if they want to be somethign else let them be something else, or someone else in this case, let them be who they want to be, and dont try ot stop them, it's what they want! So sketch i completely agree with you,

I will slightly agree that this is a little ridiculous since this rule doesn't apply to that many people who prefer different gender nouns/don't want their sex given out. A rule should honestly apply to everyone, so this is kinda nearing the RIDIC side of my scale. Another note, I've never really see harassment brought up by this, the gender thing rarely brings up an argument and a few nights ago was one of those rare occasions. Disrespectful? I guess you could say that, but I don't necessarily see that many people having a problem with it. People can simply ask for us to use the right pronoun, you don't need to make it a huge rule. And now im moving on to the sex statement. Usually if someone reveals someone's sex when they don't want it revealed, it's because they don't  know that they don't want it revealed, or because they were joking. Like I said above, simply ask and it'll get better. No need for these rules when asking people works pretty well rather than banning for doing a kinda dumb thing.

I sort of wish there was a middle ground here. It's hard for me to change the way I address someone. It's not impossible, but it takes a while. And if a place doesn't look like it's gonna give me time, there's no use in being a part of that place until I can change.

I'll see you folks around.

Taking time on changing pronouns is fine. That's all I will say.

Oh, and let me tell you something.

When Ash and I have told you not to mention our sex or joke about it before, you haven't stopped. You reply with an "ugh" and a few days later, you're doing it again. And, it's not a dumb thing to ban someone for gender harassment. Whether or not "many people have a problem with it", those people still matter as a whole.

Hate me if you wish and that goes for the rest of the people who clearly think I'm absurd.

Ash has never told me to do that, for one (unless i missed it) AND i forget things or i don't believe i am exposing your sex.

Also, i never said it was dumb to ban for gender "harassment" i said it was dumb to ban for calling people the wrong gender. Some people either don't know or prefer not to, okay? Calling someone the wrong pronoun isn't harassment at all, calling someone something rude for preferring a different gender is.

Adding my opinion to this as there seems to be a debate or so going on.

If people don't know, they can always ask. I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say I actually really like it when someone asks what I like rather than just sticking with "they" pronouns.

I also honestly feel it's kinda sad a debate even started after this was announced. It is extremely rude to refuse to call someone the pronouns they like.

To end my little comment, let me leave something from an older thread;

Gender Dysphoria: The condition in which a person feels very uncomfortable and/or unsatisfied with their current sex.

King, you can argue all you want, but I am not going to put up with it anymore.

And Cas, thank you for that.

ummm?? what the hell is actually going on? i'm gonna agree with cass, gender dysphoria exists and it is a real and very serious thing, almost as serious as depression because it can cause depression.

the thing here is that when some people are reminded about what their real gender is, maybe because they have actual physical problems, they might start to think they shouldn't be on this earth?? and this is me? EXACTLY me? i can't stand my own gender because i live with pain. i thought i should have been male since i was 7. i knew something would be wrong, and it was. and i know that this is someone else's story, too.

im not using a trigger warning or making anything cryptic, either. its about time we realised the truth.

how would you feel if you thought you were dying for 8 days and an additional few from pain every month? would you not want to be your gender? would you want to try to take on different pronouns so that you wouldn't be reminded of it?

i thought most of you knew how to respect people.

it doesn't fucking matter if you're using "fancy" pronouns. you know what else is a fancy pronoun? cisgender. my view is why can't you just straight-up say that you're that gender? but the thing is, with non-binary genders, you need some descriptors. you can just say that you don't have a gender, but some people prefer to have one. and that one isn't binary. it's in the middle of the spectrum. how are you gonna say that? hating nbs is a different issue in itself, but i bring myself back to my point, how the hell are you going to say that? what are you going to call them? by what they want to be called. it's not that damn hard. just 3 to 5 presses of the keys.

to everyone who's still against this, learn to accept things. it's extremely minor.

to people who left, thank you for overreacting immensely to just 3 pronouns.
